The Franklin County Fiscal Court on July 16 approved two zoning map changes on their second reading and gave first readings to two additional rezoning requests.
On a motion by Squire Mike Harrod, seconded by Squire Eric Whisman, the court approved Ordinance #5-2025 to rezone a 7.67-acre portion of property located at 1373 Peaks Mill Road (PVA Map No. 072-00-00-107.09) from Agricultural District (AG) to Rural Residential (RR). The motion passed with all present voting in favor.
The court then approved Ordinance #6-2025, moved by Squire Harrod and seconded by Squire Whisman, to rezone 135 acres at 650 Evergreen Road (PVA Map Nos. 025-00-00-064.00 and 025-00-00-064.02) from Rural Residential (RR) to Agricultural District (AG); the motion passed unanimously.
The court also held first readings for two other rezoning matters: a 5.00-acre portion of 190 Democrat Drive (PVA Map No. 087-00-00-042.00) proposed to change from Professional Office (PO) to General Industrial (IG), and a 1.75-acre tract at 1120 Duckers Road proposed to change from Rural Residential (RR) to General Commercial (CG). Those items were given first readings and will return for subsequent consideration.
