Burleson County commissioners on Jan. 8 approved multiple road and infrastructure actions, including two bridge replacements coordinated with the Texas Department of Transportation and several county road maintenance and utility requests.
Commissioner Vincent Svec moved, and Commissioner David Hildebrand seconded, approval for bridge replacements at County Road 310 (Davidson Creek) and County Road 244 (Deep Creek), to be coordinated with TxDOT. The court unanimously approved the projects.
The court accepted a donation of concrete from Hank and RC Herrmann after a motion by Commissioner David Hildebrand and a second from Commissioner Vincent Svec. Commissioners also authorized Road & Bridge, Precinct 1 to remove trees and debris from a landowner’s property on County Road 112 and approved a proposed water line installation in the right of way on County Road 340 and County Road 343.
For an emergency washout on County Road 378, the court authorized Road & Bridge, Precinct 3 to enter property at 6430 County Road 378 to repair vehicle- and equipment-caused damage. Separately, commissioners approved a release of liability for Henry Wheeler to allow Road & Bridge, Precinct 4 to deposit field dirt on his property on County Road 406.
Commissioner Hildebrand also moved to approve a $2,500 Hotel/Motel funding application from the Burleson County Saddle Club; the court approved the allocation.
All infrastructure motions were approved unanimously; no detailed construction contracts or funding sources were specified in the meeting record for the bridge work or water-line projects. The court authorized payment of routine bills and adjourned.
