At its May 9 regular meeting, the Charles Mix County Board of Commissioners approved routine financial reports, a land plat and a contract to replace courthouse steps.
The board approved the Auditor’s Account with Treasurer for the month ending April 30, 2024, reporting $7,057,399.26 on hand and presented bank and cash totals. The Treasurer’s Report for the same period showed a beginning balance of $7,057,399.26, income of $6,961,542.77, expenses of $1,981,973.21 and an ending balance of $12,036,968.82. The Register of Deeds statement of fees of $8,991.00 for April was also approved.
Buildings and Grounds Custodian Randy Winkler described the need to replace the south-side courthouse steps. Vice Chairman Colin Soukup moved and Commissioner Nick Stotz seconded to accept the bid from Midwest Concrete & Redi-Mix for $23,463.31; the motion passed with all commissioners voting in favor.
The board also approved the plat for Lot 1, Pavlis Farms Addition in Rhonda Township, near 375th Ave and 282nd St. No additional funding actions were recorded beyond the routine bills approved earlier in the meeting.
