Kelloggsville board approves budget amendments, Kent ISD ballot and $318,140 Southeast Elementary roof contract

At its May 6 meeting, the Kelloggsville Board of Education approved several administrative and fiscal actions.

The board approved the 2023-24 budget amendments as presented; the motion was moved by Ms. Reidzans and seconded by Ms. Townsend and passed unanimously (5-0).

The board also approved the Kent ISD Board of Directors ballot listing Christie Ramsey, Teresa Ramirez, and Ken Hornecker as candidates for the KIASB Board of Directors; that motion was moved by Mrs. Groters, seconded by Ms. Townsend and passed 5-0.

For district facilities, the board approved and awarded the Southeast Elementary roof bid to Summit Point Roofing for $318,140. The motion to accept the bid was moved by Mrs. Groters and seconded by Ms. Rocha and passed 5-0. The minutes list the award amount and the successful bidder; no additional contract terms or funding sources were recorded in the published minutes.

Earlier in the meeting the board approved the consent agenda (items 23-127 through 23-130), which included approval of the regular meeting minutes from April 22, 2024, the Personnel Report, the Kent ISD Budget Resolution, and KHS/KVS/54th Street graduation lists. That consent motion was moved by Mrs. Groters and seconded by Ms. Rocha; vote: 5-0.
