Polk County approves $103,500 contract with Place Services for Esom Hill Fire Station design

Polk County commissioners approved a not-to-exceed $103,500 agreement with Place Services, Inc. for architectural and engineering design of the Esom Hill Fire Station.

Place Services initially proposed $110,000 for the design scope; county administration negotiated a $6,500 reduction. The scope includes architectural design and civil, structural, mechanical, plumbing and electrical engineering but does not include construction administration costs. Place Services’ Director of Architecture also told staff that revising or adapting plans to different sites would cost approximately $40,000 less than a total redesign.

Commissioner Linda Liles moved to approve the agreement from the Fire Fund; Commissioner Chuck Thaxton seconded. The motion passed unanimously.
