The Fulton County Board of Commissioners adopted the proposed 2026 county budget and approved a Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution that maintains the existing tax rate, the board said Dec. 30.
Commissioner Hervey P. Hann moved to approve Resolution 8 of 2025, the "Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution," which the board described as carrying no increase in taxes for fiscal year 2026; the motion passed with unanimous assent. Commissioners then voted to adopt the proposed 2026 budget as presented by CFO Mike Lamb and Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed, who reported there had been no changes since the budget was publicly advertised.
Earlier in the meeting the board approved routine account payables dated Dec. 30, 2025, in the amount of $112,913.87 (Fund 100 General Fund $98,764.92; Fund 400 Debt Service $14,148.95). Commissioners also approved the December 2025 pension report as presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston.
The adoption was presented as a final administrative step following the advertised budget process; commissioners offered no amendments at the meeting. The board approved other administrative matters, including an agreement to retain Keller Engineer, Inc. for the 2026 fiscal year and a note that Keller Engineer will be formally appointed at the county's Reorganizational Meeting on Jan. 6, 2026.
The meeting adjourned after an executive session for personnel matters; no further fiscal actions were taken publicly at that time.
