Fulton County approves $230,699.51 state interconnectivity grant for NG911 maintenance and hires per-diem dispatcher

Fulton County commissioners on Dec. 30 approved a State Interconnectivity Grant totaling $230,699.51 to fund maintenance and upgrades for NG911-related systems and took steps to staff their 911 center.

EMA/911 Director Brian Barton presented the grant, which the board recorded as to be used toward SouthCentral Mountain CAD Maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain CHE Maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain ESInet Maintenance, Fulton NG911 GIS Maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain Battery Upgrade, and Fulton ILEC Maintenance. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve and execute the grant agreement; the motion passed unanimously.

The board also moved to hire Troy Wagaman as a Per Diem 911 Dispatcher, effective pending required clearances; that hiring motion passed "All in favor." A brief Salary Board meeting at 9:48 a.m. set the salary for the newly hired per-diem dispatcher. Commissioners then entered executive session at 10:01 a.m. for personnel matters and exited at 10:29 a.m.
