At the April 1 session the Loudon County Commission declined an earlier website proposal and heard separate updates on code enforcement and a civilian rescue.
Commissioner Randolph gave a website status update; after discussion Commissioner Snaver moved that the commission not accept the original website proposal presented to the board. The motion carried. The record includes a request that staff continue work on website status and alternatives (no new vendor or budget figure was finalized during the meeting).
Commissioner Slaver reported code-enforcement activity for a Davis Lane/Buttermilk Road property: certified letters were sent to the property owner advising of violations and directing a cease-and-desist; Slaver said county staff plans to proceed on measures to resolve the compliance issues. Slaver also requested an update on a Greenback-area property (W & W Stone farms LLC) and noted certified letters were sent there as well.
In a recognition that followed, Lance Turner recapped responding to an emergency at the Tellico Village tennis courts and said he was "very blessed to have been able to help." The chief described multiple departments responding to the call; a plaque was presented to Turner at the meeting.
The commission did not take final action on website procurement and directed staff to continue work; the code-enforcement items were reported as in-process actions requiring follow-up.
