The Butler County Board of Supervisors voted May 28 to adopt an amendment to the county’s FY24 budget that increases appropriations by $561,500, formalized in Resolution 2005-2024.
Leslie Groen, Butler County auditor, opened the budget amendment public hearing and said she had received no oral or written comments. Groen read the amendment’s line items and the explanatory language that accompanied the published notice before the board closed the hearing and moved to adopt the amendment.
The amendment lists $41,500 for Public Safety and Legal Services (including a new vehicle and school of instruction) and $520,000 for Roads and Transportation to cover project wage changes, culvert materials, slurry patching and piling. The itemized breakout in the meeting record further lists a $40,000 increase for the sheriff and $1,500 for the medical examiner; the record shows the Secondary Roads increase as $520,000.
Supervisor Rusty Eddy moved to adopt the amendment; Greg Barnett seconded. Upon roll call the chair declared the motion carried and the record states the amendment and Resolution 2005-2024 were duly adopted. The meeting minutes record approval as unanimous (‘all ayes’).
The adoption follows the public-notice and hearing requirements set out by law; no public objections were recorded at the hearing. The board then proceeded with other agenda items and adjourned at 9:33 a.m.
