Butler County supervisors approved an engagement letter May 21 with law firm Ahlers & Cooney to prepare documents related to a potential EMS levy, including a board resolution and ballot language, at an estimated cost of $1,500.
County Auditor Leslie Groen presented the Statement of Work and the cost estimate. The engagement covers drafting a board resolution, ballot measure language and election filing documents related to placing an EMS levy before voters.
Supervisor Greg Barnett moved to approve the engagement letter and Supervisor Rusty Eddy seconded; the motion passed with all voting members recorded as "aye." There was no discussion recorded about alternative counsel or a bid process in the minutes.
The county record will reflect the board's authorization for the auditor to engage Ahlers & Cooney for the specified election services. The estimated fee was recorded as $1,500 in the minutes.
