Burleson County Commissioners Court met Feb. 26, 2024, in Caldwell and unanimously approved a package of routine items, including deputation of a deputy, acceptance of donated concrete for Precinct 3, and a subdivision exception request.
County Judge Keith Schroeder presided. Commissioner David Hildebrand moved to approve the deputation of Deputy Steven A. O’Shaughnessy; Commissioner Vincent Svec seconded the motion and the court voted unanimously to approve the deputation. The court also approved a consent agenda that included a budget amendment for a Farm to Market road in Precinct 2 after a motion by Commissioner Vincent Svec and second from Commissioner David Hildebrand.
The court approved a subdivision-exception request from Patricia Foreman for property off County Road 119 and PR 4024 following a motion by Commissioner Vincent Svec and a second by Commissioner David Hildebrand. Commissioners also accepted concrete for Road & Bridge, Precinct 3 from J7 Services on a motion by Commissioner Hildebrand seconded by Commissioner Dwayne Faust.
Commissioner Dwayne Faust moved, and Commissioner Vincent Svec seconded, a resolution authorizing Burleson County to apply for the U.S. Department of Transportation’s FY25 RAISE Planning Grant; the court voted to adopt the resolution unanimously.
Other procedural items included postponement of action on a simplified plat for Jim Cross (Lightsey Subdivision) on a motion by Commissioner Dwayne Faust with a second from Commissioner David Hildebrand, and approval to authorize payment of county bills on a motion by Commissioner Hildebrand seconded by Commissioner Faust. The court then adjourned.
