Elections administrator rebuts certification rumor after first day of early voting

D. J. Oliver, Burleson County Elections Administrator, reported to the Commissioners Court that 183 voters cast ballots on the first day of early voting. Oliver also addressed a circulating claim that the county’s voting system was not certified, presenting the court with a letter from the U.S. Election Assistance Commission indicating that SLI Compliance is an EAC-accredited Voting System Test Laboratory (VSTL) and that the system is certified.

The documentation was provided to clarify the accuracy of public statements in advance of upcoming elections. No formal court action was required based on the presentation; the report was entered into the meeting record.
