Sheriff reports 50 in county jail and staffing vacancies; court deputizes two staff

Chief Rios told the Commissioners Court the county jail held 50 people at the time of the meeting—43 males and 7 females—and flagged three staffing vacancies: one school resource officer position, one dispatch vacancy and one patrol opening.

The court then approved deputations to fill positions. Commissioner Dwayne Faust moved and Commissioner Robert "Bobby" Urbanosky seconded deputations for Nancy P. Green as part-time deputy tax assessor-collector and Chase Welch as deputy sheriff; the court voted unanimously to approve the appointments.

The report and appointments were recorded in the meeting materials. The sheriff's staffing notes and appointments are entered in the county records for administrative follow-up.

The court continued with other routine business after the personnel actions.
