Burleson County Commissioners Court on Oct. 28 approved a series of routine items during its regular meeting in Caldwell, including donations, land-use filings, personnel actions and a conditional mass‑gathering permit.
On a consent agenda motion moved by Commissioner David Hildebrand and seconded by Commissioner Dwayne Faust, the court accepted three donations: $2,500 from the Caldwell Rotary Club for TxDPS, $5,500 from the Lacox Family Foundation for the Burleson County Sheriff’s Office, and $2,000 from Caldwell Christians Care for the Burleson Health Resource Center. All commissioners voted aye.
Other actions approved included purchase of bulk water for Road & Bridge from Curtis Shupak at $4.00 per 1,000 gallons (motion by Commissioner Robert “Bobby” Urbanosky, seconded by Commissioner Vincent Svec); approval of a proposed condominium regime called the Hive Condominiums (motion by Commissioner Svec); and approval of office space for Judge Towslee Corbett in her role as a senior district judge (motion by Commissioner David Hildebrand). The court also approved the Annual Grants Report and a mass gathering permit for the Green Palace Convention Center for Nov. 1, 2024, contingent on State Fire Marshal approval.
Personnel and administrative approvals included deputation of Brandy Teel as Deputy County Clerk and Clerissa Acosta as Deputy Tax Assessor Collector, authorization to pay longevity payouts after Nov. 1, and acceptance of a performance bond from Wildflower Ridge Farms, LLC for road construction near Hidden Oaks Lane and County Road 234. The court voted to table action on Request for Proposals #2024-10-01 for Solid Waste Disposal Services rather than award a contract at this meeting.
Commissioner David Hildebrand moved to authorize payment of county bills; Commissioner Vincent Svec seconded and the motion passed. The court then voted to adjourn.
