Council appoints Jennifer Sharkey to Region 3‑A board and approves fourth‑year Probation JDA grant

During the Feb. 12 special session, President Richard Shipe asked Jennifer Sharkey if she would serve on the 2019 Region 3‑A Board of Directors; Sharkey agreed and the council approved her appointment on a motion by Ken Shelton, seconded by Wil Howard.

Pam Feller, chief probation officer, submitted the Probation JDA 2019 grant for $69,477, covering the fourth and final year of the program for 2019–2020. The council approved the grant.

The council also approved the Auditor/Treasurer monthly comparison report dated Jan. 31, 2019, and acknowledged receipt of routine departmental reports (Coroner, Highway, LOHUT) and various correspondence. Council member Jim Getz commented positively on Purdue Extension materials describing planned improvements to the county 4‑H Park and asked about Event Center maintenance costs recorded in the county revenue/expense report.
