Fulton County approves $230,699.51 state grant to support 911 systems and hires per-diem dispatcher

Fulton County commissioners approved a State Interconnectivity Grant of $230,699.51 to fund maintenance and upgrades to county 911 systems and related infrastructure.

EMA/911 Director Brian Barton reviewed the grant, saying the funds will support SouthCentral Mountain CAD maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain CHE maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain ESInet maintenance, Fulton NG911 GIS maintenance, a SouthCentral Mountain battery upgrade and Fulton ILEC maintenance. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve and execute the grant; the motion carried unanimously.

During the same meeting the board approved hiring Troy Wagaman as a per-diem 911 dispatcher, pending required clearances. A brief Salary Board meeting at 9:48 a.m. set pay for the newly hired dispatcher. Commissioners entered an executive session for personnel matters at 10:01 a.m. and exited at 10:29 a.m.
