Heath Titzer and David Wichman of Clark Dietz Engineering told the Dubois County Council on May 13 that the Dubois County Regional Sewer District was formally established with the Indiana Department of Environmental Management in February 2024 and that board members have been appointed.
A Preliminary Engineering Report (PER) for the sewer project was submitted April 1 and is currently under review by the State Revolving Fund (SRF) program; the PER is expected to be available July 1, 2024. Clark Dietz reported the project design is approximately 50% complete and that the firm is coordinating with the City of Jasper on treatment processes. The minutes also note that USDA and SRF programs may be available to assist with financing.
Separately, President Michael W. Kluesner updated the council on Justice Center construction, reporting the architect completed the punch list and is working to finalize the project. The Emergency Management Agency tower at the County Annex will be removed after the agency relocates to its new offices.
The council received the updates; the minutes do not record motions or votes on the sewer district or Justice Center items at the May 13 meeting. Future actions will depend on SRF review of the PER and routine construction closeout steps.
