The Butler County Board of Supervisors on April 23 set a public hearing to consider closing and reclassifying Temple Avenue (east of Clarksville) and approved several operational items including GIS work and routine county claims.
County Engineer John Riherd told the board the Level B segment of Temple Avenue under consideration would be reclassified to a gated Level C road if the board proceeds, which would remove the road from county maintenance. The board set a public hearing on the proposed action for 9:00 a.m. on May 21, 2024.
IT Director Sara Trepp presented the Sidwell Statement of Work for ArcGIS Online development; the board approved the Statement of Work by motion, authorizing the county’s GIS project work to proceed.
Riherd also provided a construction update: culvert work will begin ahead of the C-13 resurface project; rock hauling is scheduled for early May; paving approaches for the Unverferth bridge are complete and the contracted crew will remove the temporary structure once the new bridge can be opened in the coming weeks. He reiterated that a subdivision near Shell Rock will remain a private road and will not be taken into the county maintenance system.
The board approved claims by motion, acknowledged a Manure Management Plan short-form annual update for Debner Partners Farm #58831, and adjourned to April 30, 2024.
