The Butler County Board of Supervisors on March 12, 2024 set dates for two public hearings, approved multiple retail alcohol licenses and claims, and recorded a manure management update during a meeting in Butler County, Iowa.
On a motion by Supervisor Greg Barnett, seconded by Supervisor Rusty Eddy (all ayes), the board set a public hearing on the proposed property tax levy for April 2, 2024 at 8:00 A.M. Auditor Leslie Groen said the county will issue a press release explaining the mailing associated with the levy. The board also set a public hearing for Bruening Rock Products’ request to rezone 38 acres from A-1 to A-2 for March 26, 2024 at 9:00 A.M.; the rezoning motion was moved by Eddy and seconded by Barnett (all ayes).
The board reviewed and approved three retail alcohol license applications during the meeting: a Class C license for Round Grove Golf & Country Club (motion by Barnett, second by Dralle), a Class F license for American Legion Tack-Barnett Post #268 (motion by Barnett, second by Eddy), and a Class C license for Beaver Meadows Golf & Country Club (motion by Eddy, second by Barnett). All license approvals passed on unanimous voice votes recorded as "all ayes."
The board approved county claims on a motion by Barnett, second by Eddy (all ayes) and acknowledged receipt of a Manure Management Plan short-form annual update for Hummel #71448. The regular meeting adjourned at 9:25 A.M., with the next regular meeting set for March 19, 2024 at 9:00 A.M.
Motions on procedural items were recorded as unanimous (all ayes) by the three supervisors present: Chairman Wayne Dralle, Supervisor Rusty Eddy and Supervisor Greg Barnett.
