Commission to consider reappointments and an appointment to local boards; items added to regular agenda

Interim County Manager Melinda Brooks presented three personnel items at the Nov. 11 work session that the commission added to the regular meeting agenda for formal action.

Brooks said Resolution 2024‑31 would reappoint Dennis Rollins to the Board of Assessors to fill the unexpired term left by Cathy Boyett and to serve a term from Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2027. Brooks presented Resolution 2024‑32 to appoint Andrew Christian Walker to a different Board of Assessors seat; Chief Appraiser Billy Carter said Walker’s current employer, the Pierce County Board of Assessors, had indicated it would be agreeable to his service and that another interested applicant was unable to complete required training due to job scheduling conflicts. Brooks also presented Resolution 2024‑33 to reappoint Karla Parker to the Okefenokee Regional Library Board for a four‑year term from Jan. 1, 2025 through Dec. 31, 2028; Commissioners Jerry Pope and Timmy Lucas commended Parker for her work as a board member.

All three items were placed on the regular meeting agenda; no formal votes on the appointments were taken during the work session.
