The Colfax County Lodgers Tax Advisory Board voted April 8 to award $5,835.74 to the Chase Ranch Foundation and $2,625.00 to Charcoal Burner/Six Pack Outdoors to support promotional activities for upcoming events.
The funding approvals came during the board's regular meeting, which Shelly Quartieri called to order at 9:06 a.m. Laurie Bunker moved to approve the Chase Ranch Foundation request, Michael Brown seconded and the motion passed unanimously. Shelly Quartieri later moved to approve the Charcoal Burner/Six Pack Outdoors request; Laurie Bunker seconded and the board again voted unanimously.
The Chase Ranch Foundation grant of $5,835.74 covers radio advertising, printed invitations and posters, a Maverick Rodeo insert, banners and social media advertising. The Charcoal Burner award of $2,625.00 was designated for contestant T-shirts and related promotion.
During "Other" business, board member Tina Colangelo said the previously approved Colfax County Adventure Field Guide project is on hold pending approval from Angel Fire Lodgers Tax for its one-third share of the expense. Colangelo also informed the board that the Colfax County Commission denied the advisory board's earlier recommendation regarding the Save Your Town item; no further action on that matter was recorded at the meeting.
Board members approved the March 4, 2024 meeting minutes and the meeting agenda at the start of the session. No public comments were offered. The board scheduled its next meeting for May 6, 2024, and adjourned at 10:18 a.m.
The board's roll call recorded Shelly Quartieri, Tina Colangelo, Laurie Bunker, Michael Brown (remote), Angel Campbell and Nelisa Heddin as present for the votes. The minutes record that the board's actions above were approved unanimously.
