The Pittsburg County Tax Roll Correction Board approved 12 corrections to the 2025 tax roll during a special meeting Dec. 29 at the Pittsburg County Courthouse. Chairman Charlie Rogers moved to approve the corrections and First Deputy Assessor Lindsey Parker seconded; the motion passed with Rogers and Parker voting in favor and one member, Matt McGowan, recorded as absent.
The corrections covered a range of issues flagged on individual petitions. The board accepted an adjustment for RK Inc. to correct building and land measurements and approved an exemption for the James White Trust after a veterans (VA) exemption was filed after the tax roll had been created. Multiple petitions addressed split-processing errors that left property values unchanged after deeds were filed (Raymond H & Linda Cox Trust; Mary C Lewis; Lucas B Sherrill; Coleen Sherrill Logan; Charlie Renae Shields). The board also approved corrections noting a house removal that had been recorded in error (Theresa J & Leland W Battles) and changes tied to ownership or estate events, including the estate sale following the February 2025 death of Millard Barringer and a reported sale of a side-by-side ATV by the son of Walter Lloyd after Lloyd’s death.
Other approved adjustments included a correction to the recorded year built on improvements (Terry Gene Kinyon Revocable Trust) and instances where values failed to carry over following parcel splits (Lucas B Sherrill, Coleen Sherrill Logan). The minutes record petition numbers #5261 through #5272 as the items considered and approved.
The board’s minutes list no unfinished business. The meeting was opened by Chairman Charlie Rogers at 8:30 a.m.; after the vote the board adjourned. The minutes show the meeting was properly noticed and held in the County Commissioners Conference Room at the Pittsburg County Courthouse.
