During its April 1 work session, the Durham County Board reviewed a consent agenda containing several capital project and budget amendments, contract amendments and purchase authorizations.
Notable items included: approval to appropriate $300,000 from the Debt Service Fund to the PAYGO Fund to create the 826 E. Pettigrew Street Renovation capital project and authorize the County Manager to execute an architectural design contract with Andre Johnson Architects; appropriation of $350,000 from Debt Service Fund balance to PAYGO and $350,000 from PAYGO to the Durham County Sheriff’s Training Facility capital project for preconstruction activities, and authorization to execute a $202,003 contract for preconstruction services with CT Wilson Construction Co./Rankin III Grading. Staff noted the Capital Improvement Plan (CIP) timeline details would be provided before the Regular Session and the board requested additional CIP information related to new construction projects.
Other consent items covered design contract amendments for the Stanford L. Warren interior upgrades, reallocation of PAYGO funding for courthouse elevator repairs into a facilities systems project, approval of moving graves at the Emory Cemetery, furniture purchases for S.L. Warren Library, sewer collection system rehabilitation appropriations, and construction contract amendments for utilities painting and coating services. Several items were presented with no questions from the board during the work session.
