Mackinac County board names veterans and 911 board members, approves contracts and budget amendments

At its Dec. 22 meeting, the Mackinac County Board of Commissioners approved several appointments, awarded contracts, and passed routine budget amendments.

Appointments: The board appointed Edward Olson (term to Dec. 31, 2028), Daryl Orr (term to Dec. 31, 2029) and David Buss (term to Dec. 31, 2029) to the Veterans Service Committee after receiving three letters of interest. E911/Emergency Manager Bryce Tracy presented a recommended list for the 911 & Emergency District Board and the board approved the list as presented.

Contracts and procurement: The board approved a single snow‑removal bid from Randy Lee, GLE, covering county services through April 2027. Clerk Hillary Vowell presented and the board approved a bid from Eversons Furniture for carpet ($9,446.40) and installation ($2,949.50) for the new veterans office space.

Bills and amendments: The board approved additional bills submitted for Dec. 11 ($157,177.02) and Dec. 22 ($701,234.14) and approved budget amendments #2025‑44, #2025‑45 and #2025‑46.

All motions passed on recorded unanimous roll‑call votes. The board received the November banking report and adjourned at 12:57 p.m.
