Franklin County Fiscal Court awards road‑department building contract, approves multiple material bids and advertises redevelopment project

Franklin County Fiscal Court on June 7 awarded a contract for two new road‑department buildings, authorized advertising for a road‑department redevelopment project and approved multiple material bids.

Squire Scotty Tracy moved and Squire Richard Tanner seconded authorization to award a contract to SLA Enterprises LLC for erection of two buildings at the Franklin County Road Department, 100 Lewis Ferry Road (Bid Package #1); the motion passed with all members voting in favor.

The court then authorized advertising for bids on the broader Road Department redevelopment project after a motion by Squire Tracy and a second by Squire Tanner.

The Fiscal Court approved several material contracts and low‑bid awards: Various Sizes of Aggregates to Harrod Concrete and Stone (Squire Sherry Sebastian recorded an abstention), Class I Bituminous Surface to H.G. Mays Corporation (sole bidder), Class A Concrete to Harrod Concrete and Stone (Squire Sebastian abstained), and N‑12 Polyethylene Pipe & Fittings to Hays Pipe Supply (sole bidder).
