Franklin County Fiscal Court used its May 10 meeting to approve several routine contracts, grant applications and a personnel hire, recording unanimous votes on each item.
Among the actions approved were: awarding the fire department uniform bid to vendor Galls; approving a housing contract for property at 219 Steadmantown Lane in Lakeview Park; surplusing a 1999 Jeep Cherokee (VIN 1J4FF68SOXL542882) and transferring it without compensation to the Franklin County Career and Technical Center for educational use; and approving Resolution #11-2023 to file an application for the 2023-2024 Waste Tire Grant Program with the Kentucky Department for Environmental Protection, Division of Waste Management.
After returning from a closed session, the court voted to hire Nicholas Boswell as a part-time golf employee. The court also amended the agenda to add and approve Resolution #12-2023 to file a VOCA (Federal Victims of Crime Act) grant application through the Commonwealth of Kentucky Justice and Public Safety Cabinet, and approved Resolution #13-2023 supporting transportation of non-public school students within Franklin County. The meeting concluded with a unanimous motion to adjourn.
