Franklin County Fiscal Court approves reapportionment board appointments, reappointments to Farmdale Water District

Franklin County Fiscal Court unanimously approved three appointments to its reapportionment board and reappointed two members to the Farmdale Water District during a special video-teleconference meeting on May 31, 2023.

Judge Michael Mueller presided over the session, which began at 5:05 p.m. and included Squires Sherry Sebastian (via Zoom), J.W. Blackburn, Kelly Dycus, Scotty Tracy, Richard Tanner and Eric Whisman. County Attorney Max Comley and Fiscal Court Clerk Kim Cox were present.

The court voted to appoint Fred Goins after a motion by Squire Scotty Tracy, seconded by Squire J.W. Blackburn. Squire Sherry Sebastian moved, with a second from Squire Kelly Dycus, to appoint Avinash Tope. Squire Richard Tanner moved, with a second from Squire Sherry Sebastian, to appoint Paola Roe. Each appointment was approved unanimously by the court.

The court also approved, on motion by Squire Tanner seconded by Squire Sebastian, compensation of $50 per meeting for members of the reapportionment board. That motion passed unanimously.

Separately, the court reappointed Jon Dailey and Eddie Harrod to the Farmdale Water District. The reappointments were made on motions by Squire Sherry Sebastian (seconded by Squire Kelly Dycus) and Squire Scotty Tracy (seconded by Squire Sherry Sebastian), respectively; each motion passed unanimously. Both reappointments were recorded with terms ending May 14, 2027.

With those actions complete, Squire Richard Tanner moved to adjourn, seconded by Squire J.W. Blackburn; the court adjourned at 5:10 p.m.
