Fulton County commissioners voted unanimously Dec. 30 to adopt the county's fiscal year 2026 budget and approve a tax levy and appropriation resolution that includes no increase in county taxes.
County Fiscal Administrator Sue Reed and CFO Mike Lamb presented the proposed budget; Reed noted there were no changes since the proposal was publicly advertised. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to adopt the proposed 2026 budget as presented and the board voted "all in favor." Commissioner Hervey P. Hann separately moved to approve Resolution 8 of 2025 (Tax Levy and Appropriation Resolution), which the board adopted without increasing tax rates for fiscal year 2026.
The adoption follows routine budget procedures: public advertisement, presentation by county fiscal staff and a formal motion to adopt. The board also approved the December 2025 pension report, presented by HR Administrator Mary Huston.
The county reported no change to the advertised budget during the meeting. The commissioners noted related administrative actions to be completed after adoption, including publication of the adopted levy and appropriations. The board is scheduled to hold a Reorganizational Meeting on Jan. 6, 2026, where some administrative appointments will be finalized.
The vote to adopt the budget and approve the levy was unanimous.
