Tammie Stump, CEO of Union County General Hospital, and Amanda Boggs, the hospital’s chief nursing officer, reported to the Union County Commission on operational and financial matters during the board’s May 14 meeting.
Stump distributed a "County Commissioner Monthly Hospital Report" covering provider recruitment, financial assistance, business and financial updates, compliance, radiology, plant services, therapy services, pharmacy, laboratory/infection control, and partnerships with Union County/Des Moines health centers. Stump also reported March financials using the Clayton Health Systems consolidated financial summary provided to commissioners.
The hospital leadership noted several capital or facility items under consideration, including HVAC work, a vestibule project and a 3,000‑gallon cryogenic tank. The board received these written reports in advance of the meeting and discussed them with hospital staff. Melissa Prante, chief financial officer, was noted as unable to attend.
What’s next: The hospital will continue recruitment and operational work, and the board will retain the distributed financial packets and capital notes in county records for any follow‑up questions.
