Fulton County commissioners voted unanimously Dec. 30, 2025, to accept a State Interconnectivity Grant totaling $230,699.51 to support multiple 911-related projects and to hire a per-diem 911 dispatcher.
EMA/911 Director Brian Barton reviewed the grant request alongside HR Administrator Mary Huston. The grant was described in the meeting record as funding the SouthCentral Mountain CAD Maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain CHE Maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain ESInet Maintenance, Fulton NG911 GIS Maintenance, a SouthCentral Mountain Battery Upgrade, and Fulton ILEC Maintenance. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve and execute the grant agreement; the motion passed with all commissioners voting in favor.
The board also approved hiring Troy Wagaman as a Per Diem 911 Dispatcher, effective pending clearances. The Salary Board held a brief meeting at 9:48 a.m. to set the salary for the newly hired dispatcher. The transcript shows the hiring and salary-setting were treated as routine, unanimous actions.
The grant acceptance and hiring are recorded as approved actions in the meeting minutes; no vote tallies beyond "All in favor" were recorded.
