At its April 9 meeting, the Roosevelt County Commission approved a series of routine but consequential administrative items, including a zone change application, flood ordinance notice, an election subgrant MOU and several procurement contracts.
The board approved an Application for Amendment to Ordinance Zone Change for county parcel numbers R028607 and R022949 and voted to issue a Notice of Intent to Adopt a Revised Flood Damage Prevention Ordinance. The commission also approved a Memorandum of Understanding with the New Mexico Secretary of State for a $40,000 Federal Election Assistance subgrant to Roosevelt County.
On procurement, the board approved Contract Amendment No.1 for the detention food service agreement, a $1,900 contract with the Roosevelt Soil and Water Conservation District to spray noxious weeds, and an intergovernmental agreement with the City of Portales for mutual services. The commission also received updates on fairground covered stalls and pavilion procurement timelines; covered stalls are expected to be completed by the end of June and the pavilion by the end of July.
All motions on these items carried by the recorded votes listed in the minutes. The commission scheduled FY25 budget workshop dates for later in April and early May to continue budget and staffing discussions.
