Roosevelt County commissioners unanimously approved several motions March 19, including routine agenda items and formal submittals and resolutions.
Routine business: Commissioners approved the meeting agenda and the March 5 minutes and unanimously approved February accounts payable and payroll after questions were answered by County Manager Amber Hamilton.
Grant application: Sheriff Javier Sanchez requested approval to submit the FY25 Law Enforcement Protection Fund application to fund training and equipment; the commission approved submission by unanimous vote.
Resolutions: The board approved Resolution 2024‑13 recognizing the Roosevelt County Health Council as the official county health council for purposes of the County Health Councils Act and approved Resolution 2024‑14, a budget adjustment citing prepayment of arena debt service and additional grant funding for the sheriff’s office; both resolutions passed unanimously.
Executive session: The commission entered executive session at 7:10 p.m. with County Attorney Michael Garcia, County Manager Amber Hamilton, Sheriff Javier Sanchez and Chief Deputy Bryan Holmes present and reconvened at 8:32 p.m., stating no action resulted from the closed session. The meeting adjourned at 8:36 p.m.
