The Greer County Board of Commissioners met Dec. 22, 2025, and unanimously approved a series of administrative motions covering grants, appointments and budget transfers.
Commissioner Steven Fite moved to approve the minutes from the Dec. 8, 2025 special meeting; Commissioner Mark Barnes seconded and Chair Brent York, Barnes and Fite each voted "aye," carrying the motion. The board then approved a motion to meet with OSU Extension Coordinator Cheryl Lively.
The board voted to approve the 2025–2026 REAP grant for Hester Fire Department after a motion by Fite and a second by Barnes; the vote was recorded as unanimous. Commissioners also approved closeout documentation for the 2024–2025 REAP grant as placed on the agenda.
Fite moved and Barnes seconded the appointment of Chris Christian as Flood Plain Administrator; the motion passed unanimously, and Christian was appointed to the position. The board adopted Resolution No. 2025‑32, renewing an interlocal cooperative agreement and appointing the county's representative to the CED Board of Directors, again by unanimous vote.
The commissioners approved a transfer of appropriations reallocating highway insurance from Districts 1, 2 and 3 to District 4 for the ACCO‑SIG special assessment after a motion by Fite and a second by Barnes. The board also voted to open six‑month bids and approved purchase orders and reimbursement of claims across multiple funds, with itemized vendors and amounts recorded in the minutes.
There was no action taken on Blanket Purchase Orders or on a scheduled discussion of Roads & Bridges. The board recessed the meeting at 9:43 a.m.; the minutes were later signed and recorded on Dec. 29, 2025.
