Fulton County approves $230,699.51 state grant for NG911, CAD and ESInet maintenance

Fulton County commissioners voted Dec. 30 to accept a State Interconnectivity Grant of $230,699.51 to support multiple emergency communications projects across the SouthCentral Mountain region. EMA/911 Director Brian Barton presented the grant; HR Administrator Mary Huston attended the discussion. Commissioner Steven L. Wible moved to approve and execute the grant; the motion passed with all commissioners in favor.

The minutes list the grant’s intended uses as SouthCentral Mountain CAD maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain CHE maintenance, SouthCentral Mountain ESInet maintenance, Fulton NG911 GIS maintenance, a SouthCentral Mountain battery upgrade, and Fulton ILEC maintenance. Commissioners reviewed the funding and also considered staffing needs tied to 911 operations; the board later approved hiring Troy Wagaman as a Per Diem 911 Dispatcher pending clearances.
