The Grove City Council on Nov. 18 approved a resolution selecting a bridge inspector to meet National Bridge Inspection Standards for the term April 1, 2026 through March 31, 2028 and handled several routine governance matters before entering an executive session.
Councilmember Ivan Devitt moved and Peggy Steed seconded the resolution to select the bridge inspector; the motion carried 4–0. Earlier in the meeting the council approved the Nov. 4, 2025 minutes and the Purchase Order Register (motions by Ivan Devitt, seconded by Andy Stewart in both cases), and approved the Notice of Posting for regularly scheduled meetings for calendar year 2026. All votes on those items were unanimous.
In staff reports City Manager Darren Cook announced a beam‑signing for the new police station on Dec. 9, 2025, and said the city will discontinue CodeRed because the new city website system will include similar notification functionality at lower cost.
At 4:42 PM the council voted to enter an executive session that the minutes record would include Kaylee and Jacob Wallace. The council reconvened at 5:24 PM after a motion by Andy Stewart, seconded by Ivan Devitt, to exit executive session; the minutes state "No Action Taken." The council then adjourned by unanimous vote.
The minutes do not record public comment or additional details about the executive session participants or the reasons for that closed session; no formal action resulted from the executive session.
