Port Deposit Mayor Wayne Tome Jr. and the four-member council on Nov. 4 unanimously approved three procedural items: acceptance of the Oct. 7 meeting minutes, continuation of AECOM Master Consulting Services, and renewal of a snow-and-ice contract with Akehurst.
Town Administrator Vicky Rinkerman recommended the AECOM agreement to continue planning and engineering services provided by Chris Rogers on an as-needed basis. "I recommend approval, with authorization for the Mayor to execute the contract," Rinkerman said. Councilman Daniel Berlin moved to approve continuation of services; Councilwoman Randa Thiele seconded the motion, which passed unanimously.
Rinkerman explained the Akehurst renewal provides snow and ice management for the Bainbridge area because the Town lacks its own removal equipment; she noted Powers Road is about one mile long. Councilwoman Thiele moved to approve the Akehurst contract; Councilman Tom Knight seconded and the motion passed unanimously.
The council also approved the Oct. 7 legislative meeting minutes after a motion by Councilwoman Thiele and second by Councilman Knight.
These approvals were routine votes taken during the New Business portion of the agenda. No amendments or dissenting comments were recorded on the motions; each was recorded as passed unanimously. The council adjourned the public portion of the meeting at 8:18 p.m. and moved to an executive session on a separate legal matter.
