Corporal Tyler Price of the Cecil County Sheriff's Office updated the Port Deposit Town Council on Oct. policing and traffic-enforcement activity, saying deputies filled "all twenty-eight October shifts" and responded to 12 calls for service.
Price reported increased traffic citations, including several arrests for suspended licenses and insurance violations, and said multiple abandoned vehicles were towed. He told the council a stolen camper had been recovered from Marina Park and investigators are working on two stolen kayak reports near Town Hall.
On the issue of large trucks using restricted streets, Price said patrols will be increased "at key entry points, particularly near the VFW and Conowingo Park, to redirect trucks and reduce illegal routing." He recommended improving signage on Liberty Grove and Powers Roads and described continued coordination with county officials on enforcing no-parking zones along Powers Road to prevent tractor-trailer parking and improve safety.
Town Administrator Vicky Rinkerman later connected truck routing concerns to the Bainbridge development and reported county-level discussions on enforcement and signage, including MRP installing No Parking signs on Powers Road.
The council did not take a formal vote on enforcement strategy; Price's update was presented as information and a staff recommendation for continued coordination with county partners.
