The Madison County Board on July 21 approved seven zoning-related resolutions from the Building & Zoning Committee covering variances, rezones and special-use permits.
Resolutions approved included variances for residential setbacks (Z21-0033, Z21-0034 and Z21-0036), a zoning map amendment to rezone land for Triad School District #2 to permit a school use at 705 US Highway 40 (Z21-0035), and a Planned Unit Development designation to bring Lakeshore Estates mobile home park into compliance with conditions (Z21-0038). A special-use permit was approved to allow placement of a single-wide mobile home on a property at 506 Fairway Drive for a named family for up to five years (Z21-0040).
All seven measures were reported by the Madison County Zoning Board of Appeals and recommended for approval. The County Board recorded a unanimous vote in favor (ayes 28, nays 0) after committee presentation.
County staff and committee chairs said the petitions had been through required public hearings before the Zoning Board of Appeals and were accompanied by findings and recommended conditions where appropriate. The approvals take effect immediately upon adoption unless conditions noted in the resolutions require later compliance or administrative review.
