The Mount Pleasant City Council on March 6 approved three vendor requisitions covering infrastructure and recreation-center work.
Council voted to approve requisition 032601 for $92,204.95 to supply power-line work tied to the Oak Mountain/Old Town Ranch project after staff explained that some items are pass-throughs and vendors prefer purchase orders. The motion was made by the council member who identified himself as Jake and seconded by another council member; a roll call recorded aye votes and the requisition passed.
Council also approved requisition 032603 to Christian Glass for $30,950.64 to replace the front entry doors at the recreation center. Council members discussed finish options (a bronze option costing about $1,500 more), security-lock considerations and potential solar heat gain on the west-facing doors before approving the purchase on roll call.
A third requisition, 032604, totaling $8,964.16, covered interior repairs and improvements at the recreation center: replacement bathroom partitions, a bottle-fill water fountain, painting of lobby space and replacement aluminum benches for the gym. Council discussed itemized costs and timing and approved the requisition on a roll-call vote.
Each motion was presented during the meeting’s consent and business portions and carried by recorded vote. Staff said some of the work will be scheduled and, where applicable, billed as pass-throughs so the city does not ultimately bear unreimbursed costs.
Council members said they would track project-level spending and report back as items move into implementation.
