Commissioners pick College Station City Hall among early voting sites after debate about campus curbside access

Brazos County Commissioners Court voted March 10 to set early voting locations for the May 2026 primary runoff, approving College Station City Hall among the designated sites after a drawn‑out discussion about polling access and voter convenience.

The debate centered on whether to retain the MSC campus site that has served past runoffs or move the location to College Station City Hall or the Bob and Wanda Myers Community Center. Supporters of keeping the MSC site said it is convenient for faculty and staff who work on campus; opponents raised concerns about limited parking on game weekends and the lack of a reliable curbside voting location, which the county must provide by law.

One court member said the lack of a predictable curbside spot at MSC posed compliance and access problems; another warned that changing a habitual voting location might confuse voters. After discussion, a motion to include City Hall passed by voice vote; one commissioner recorded opposition during the call for votes.

The court noted that curbside voting and parking logistics must be ensured at chosen sites and that staff would continue to coordinate with city and campus partners on safe, accessible arrangements.
