The Board of Education for Riverside‑Brookfield Township High School District 208 received a February financial update showing the district received $2,501,023 in operating revenue for the month, excluding working cash and bond proceeds.
"The monthly summary report shows that the total operating revenue for the month, excluding the working cash bond proceeds, were $2,501,023," Dr. Spatana (speaker 6) told the board. He said the revenue mix for the month is about 80% property tax, 16% evidence‑based (state) funding and 2% registration fees.
Dr. Spatana said total operating expenditures for the month were $2,689,178, with 72% of that going to salary and benefits, 15% to purchased services and 5% to transportation. He added the district has spent 66.2% of its budgeted expenditures year to date (excluding working cash/bond proceeds).
On property‑tax receipts, the district reported it has received an estimated 97% of the 2024 levy so far but cautioned that figure is an internal estimate pending Cook County reporting. "There's still no reporting available, though, so that's just kind of our best guess," Dr. Spatana said, noting some incoming funds may apply to prior years and final allocations will be known once county reports are released.
The administration said it expects more distributions as the county begins spring collections and that a more complete accounting could be available within a couple of weeks. The board asked whether 97% was the district's estimate or a county figure; Dr. Spatana reiterated it was the district's current estimate.
The board received the report with no formal action beyond discussion. The district packet includes the full monthly statement of revenues and expenditures for board review.
