Administrators presented a staffing and course proposal for the 2026–27 school year that trims total district FTE from 110.4 to a proposed 109.2 while preserving intervention supports, administrators said.
"So this year, we sat at 110.4. Next year, we are looking to come in at 109.2, which means we are lower by 1.2 total FTE," Assistant Principal Kyle Dimunquez (speaker 10) told the board while reviewing the staffing summary. He said the proposed staffing remains aligned to the projection model and that overall class averages remain consistent despite the slight FTE reduction.
Assistant Principal Beth Augustine (speaker 8) described the list of courses that meet the district threshold for board approval because they are offered only once per day or have projected enrollment under 20. "I am bringing to you the classes that are only offered once during the day but are under 20," Augustine said. She listed intervention classes (heritage speakers, sophomore reading, Tier 3 reading), languages such as French 3 and honors French that historically run under 20, and new pathway courses including intro to teaching and robotics.
Board policy 6:31 requires board approval for courses with fewer than 20 students; the administration recommended the list presented in the packet. Trustees asked follow‑up questions about dual‑credit prospects for the auto program and the small pre‑algebra class projected at five students; administration said the pre‑algebra section typically grows with August transfers and that work continues with community colleges on dual‑credit certification for the auto pathway.
The board approved the minimum course enrollment list and the specific course approvals under the consent/vote items later in the meeting.
