Gallatin County commissioners on Dec. 23 approved a series of contracts, budget transactions and cleanup resolutions during a meeting at the county courthouse in Bozeman.
The consent agenda — approved after one item was pulled for separate consideration — included claims totaling $1,301,226.75 and contract approvals ranging from a $770,000 rest-home pharmacy services agreement with Liberty Drug LLC to a $269,790 Freightliner roll-off truck purchase for Logan Landfill and a $156,286 shallow-draft search-and-rescue patrol boat. The commission approved the consent agenda on a voice vote; no opposing votes were recorded in the transcript.
The commission amended and approved the Rimrock Foundation FY26 alcohol-services agreement after county administrators said the packet had been prepared at 85% funding but the commission had decided to fund the grant at 80% of available alcohol-tax revenues. County administration asked for an on-the-record amendment to reflect the change, and the commission approved the amended contract.
Facilities staff recommended awarding the sheriff's office search-and-rescue community room audiovisual contract to Forte after a competitive process. Jeff Nearing of facilities said Forte outscored other respondents and that the system will be compatible with other county audiovisual systems. The commission approved a notice of award to Forte for $159,604.67.
The commission also approved several housekeeping resolutions. It designated the facilities director as the county procurement officer to replace the retired operations-and-procurement director, and it revised the authority and role of the Three Forks airport advisory board to make that board consistent with other county advisory boards and to authorize the airport manager to sign short-term hangar leases and subleases. Each resolution was presented as a cleanup action and approved by voice vote; no negative votes were recorded on the transcript.
A county monthly treasury report for October 2025 was pulled from the agenda and rescheduled for the Jan. 6 meeting.
The meeting concluded with the commission calling a hearing for Jan. 13 on a petition to create a Big Sky Hospital/wellness district in Gallatin County. The petition and next steps were presented by the election manager and representatives of the Big Sky Resort Area District; that item is the subject of a separate article.
The commission adjourned at the end of its regular agenda.
