John Coleman, the city’s director of Planning, Community & Economic Development, briefed the commission at the March 10 meeting and said there has been little new activity since the last update: recent projects that the commission reviewed have moved to City Council, and staff expects to focus on the Shoreline Master Program periodic update and minor code fixes that were deferred during the comprehensive-plan update.
Coleman said the mayor is communicating with prospective applicants to fill a vacant planning-commission seat and that appointments may be forthcoming. Commissioners discussed the possibility of increasing meeting frequency while SMP work is active; staff said two meetings in April is possible but no special March meeting is planned.
Coleman’s report was procedural and informational; no formal action followed.
