Executive Committee unanimously concurs with Legislative Audit Committee to reappoint Keri Hunter as State Auditor

The Executive Committee of the Legislative Council unanimously concurred with the Legislative Audit Committee’s recommendation to reappoint Keri Hunter to a second five-year term as state auditor.

Senator Frizzell, chair of the Legislative Audit Committee, told the committee the panel met Feb. 25 and “agreed unanimously that Keri Hunter would be our candidate that we'd be putting forth.” A committee member moved concurrence and the motion was seconded; a roll-call vote recorded yes votes from Caldwell, Duran, Rodriguez, Simpson and the president and the motion passed unanimously.

Keri Hunter, State Auditor, said the budget in the committee packet matched what she presented previously and offered no additional changes. She answered members’ questions about the office’s plans and did not propose changes to the request at this time.

The committee recorded no dissenting remarks during the consideration and moved on with other agenda items after the vote.
