James Cho, vice president of the Fullerton School Board, used a short "FSD 3 in 3" video to describe the district features he visits and to outline priorities for student programs.
"The most exciting part about being a Fullerton school board trustee is being given the opportunity to see all the different pieces of the district that have to work together to keep your child safe and to provide them with quality public education," Cho said, describing tours of the central kitchen, special education programs and a clay lab where students explore art.
Cho, who identified himself as a Fullerton native and as a deputy director at the County of Orange social services agency, also said he serves in the Air Force Reserves. He framed those experiences as influences on his approach to the board.
When asked about his hopes for the district, Cho said he wants the Fullerton School District to offer options so families can find a school or program that fits each child. "So whether that's going to your local neighborhood school ... or finding a specialized program like the multi age programs that we offer or GATE or some of our schools that are more focused on the arts, I want Fullerton School District to have something that will make your kid truly thrive and be happy," he said.
The video is part of the FSD 3 in 3 series hosted by Doctor Chad. The segment closed with the host's sign-off and no further actions or board decisions were announced in the recording.
