After public comment and staff presentations, the council moved through the consent agenda and several resolutions.
Approved procurement items included unit‑price contracts for aluminum sulfate, sodium hypochlorite, hydrated lime and sodium hydroxide for the wastewater and water filtration plants, and a $119,350 contract for Sanborn Park pool parking lot improvements to meet ADA requirements. Council accepted and filed the quarterly financial report for the six‑month period ending Dec. 31, 2025.
Resolutions approved included authorization to accept several bids (unit price contracts and park improvements), authorization to publish a notice of intent to issue municipal securities (procedural), a resolution supporting protection of local decision‑making and community‑led housing, and adoption of the council's goals and priorities for fiscal year 2026–27.
City staff clarified that publication of a notice of intent does not commit the city to issue bonds; staff said any bond issuance would return to council for approval after negotiated agreements with the townships were complete.
