The Colorado Senate on March 10 advanced a slate of bills on the third-reading consent calendar and confirmed several gubernatorial appointments.
Majority Leader Rodriguez moved passage of the consent calendar, which included House Bill 11-82, House Bill 10-67, House Bill 10-41 and House Bill 10-25; the motion carried and those bills were recorded as passed by the chamber. The clerk recorded the passage of multiple consent-calendar bills and requests to add cosponsors.
House Bill 10-13, concerning the use of a ratio utility billing system by landlords to allocate utility charges to tenants, drew enough opposition to trigger a roll call. The bill passed on third reading with 23 ayes and 12 no votes. "We move house bill 10-13 on third reading of final passage," Senator Weisman said during the third-reading proceeding.
The Senate also confirmed appointments, including James Vandenberg to the Colorado Prescription Drug Affordability Review Board and multiple members to the Air Quality Control Commission; confirmations were recorded without negative votes. Several bills and measures were laid over for future Senate consideration under unanimous voice votes.
