Planning staff told the commission that a workshop on April 13 will present the county’s 2023 zoning-code update, describing the package as a substantial set of clarifications and amendments that staff likened to a major “tune up” of the code.
Staff said the update covers roughly 131 topics within the existing code and that two CPAC meetings had already concluded with two more scheduled; staff also said the full materials are posted on the county website and that an early email notice would be sent to commissioners. The planning director’s office characterized much of the package as clarifications, some streamlining the Board has requested, and some reductions of unnecessary text in code sections.
The commission was told some title sections, such as interim zones, were being substantially shortened as part of the cleanup. Staff asked commissioners to review materials early and noted CPAC meetings will continue through most of April.
