The Waukesha City Ordinance and Licensing Committee approved a set of licensing items and temporary-event alcohol permits during its March 9 meeting.
The committee approved an operator's license for Sarah Evans after the chair said she was the only applicant on the list and that sufficient time had passed since prior record items. The chair moved to approve the license and the motion passed unanimously.
Committee members then approved retail and extension-of-premises applications for Discount Smokes and Spirits (Class A beer and liquor retail for The Story LLC) and sidewalk-cafe extensions for The Steaming Cup and Toffty's Table. The chair read the list of applicants and announced the motion to approve passed unanimously.
The committee also reviewed AB105 applications that require municipal approval before the state issues event permits. Staff explained the state issues the AB105 permit but municipal approval is required; the committee discussed possible conditions such as on-premises consumption and whether separate applications were required for each date.
The committee authorized the clerk to sign off on AB105 applications with identical terms for Raised Grain Brewing Company's Tribute Tuesday events on June 9, July 14, August 11 and September 1, each from 5:30 p.m. to 9:30 p.m. The clerk was also authorized to approve any additional AB105s if separate applications are required but the terms are identical. The committee approved an AB105 application for Raised Grain Brewing Company to sell beverages at the Guitar Town Music Festival on June 13 from noon to 8 p.m.
All motions related to licenses and AB105 permits were made, seconded and approved unanimously. The meeting then moved on to communications and adjourned at 6:21 p.m.
